Tsinghua University honors Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for contributions to Vietnam-China cooperation

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has been awarded the title of Honorary Professor by Tsinghua University, one of Asia's top universities, for his contributions to Vietnam's economic development and Vietnam-China cooperation. The ceremony on March 2 recognized his leadership in economic reform and bilateral relations. 

Vietnam and China universities cooperate in AI research

Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Tsinghua University will work together on research in artificial intelligence, information technology, new materials, and other high-tech fields. During the seminar "Vietnam-China Higher Education: Opportunities and Challenges in the 21st Century – The Digital Intelligence Era," they discussed setting up a joint AI research center, launching student exchange programs, and offering management training for Vietnamese businesses in 2025.

Ho Chi Minh City welcomed over 6.6 million tourists in Jan-Feb

In the first two months of 2025, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed over 6.6 million tourists, earning more than VND37.4 trillion (US$1.5 billion), a 30.2% increase from 2024, accounting for 14.4% of the 2025 target. In March, the city will focus on developing tourism in Thu Duc City and other districts, promoting key attractions such as waterway tourism, cultural sites, eco-tourism, and agricultural experiences. The city will also apply technology in tourism promotion using 3D/360-degree visuals and LED screens.

Hanoi launches AI assistant to help with administrative procedures

Hanoi has launched a smart call center 19001009, which uses AI to help with administrative procedures and online public services. Residents can access it 24/7 via phone, website, chatbot, or mobile app. The system aims to automate processes, reduce staff workload, and improve service efficiency.

250 billiards players to compete in Ho Chi Minh City World Cup

The first qualifying round for the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City 3-Cushion Billiards World Cup is now underway until March 5 in Ho Chi Minh City. Nearly 250 players are competing for eight fully sponsored spots in the May tournament.

Hanoi women join citywide clean-up campaign

Women from 30 districts in Hanoi took part in a citywide environmental clean-up on March 2 as part of the city's Green Campaign. This activity also marks the celebration of important events, such as the 95th anniversary of the Hanoi Party Committee and the 115th anniversary of the International Women's Day movement ( March 8). The Women's Union is currently encouraging weekly clean-ups on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings and other activities to keep the city's main streets clean.
