Ninh Thuan promotes culture and tourism in Cantho City

The Ninh Thuan 2023 Culture and Tourism Day with the theme "Ninh Thuan - Land of Converging Unique Values" is underway from November 3 to 5 in Ninh Kieu Pedestrian Street, Ninh Kieu District, Cantho City. The event featured 24 booths showcasing the province's "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) products, local specialties, tourism products, and cuisine.

It aims to strengthen cultural and tourism cooperation between Ninh Thuan Province and Cantho City, as well as the whole country.

Shanghai government shows interest in relations with Vietnamese cities

Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng told Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha that the Chinese city would like to promote relations with Vietnamese localities in trade, improving production capacity, and strengthening cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha called on Shanghai to cooperate with Vietnamese agencies and major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Haiphong to expand cross-border trade and economic cooperation, tourism, and increase Vietnamese exports to the city.

Corporate bond market functioning properly: Deputy Finance Minister

The retail corporate bond market has functioned properly since its launch three months ago, with a listed value of more than VND336.7 trillion (US$13.7 billion), Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi reported on November 4. He said the market has 451 bond codes from 114 companies as of October 31.

The daily trading value of the market is estimated at VND676.6 billion ($27.5 million), bringing the total market trading value after three months to nearly VND49.4 trillion ($2 billion). In October alone, the daily trading value was VND1.3 trillion ($53 million) per day.

Ho Chi Minh City seeks guidance on issuing title deeds

Ho Chi Minh City is seeking advice from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on calculating financial charges and issuing title deeds for buyers of condotels (serviced apartments owned entirely by tenants) and shophouses. According to the ministry, several project developers have sold condotel and shop-house units, parts of their real estate projects, to those needing housing and have paid all financial obligations.

The buyers of these products are demanding title deeds from the authorities. The current regulations stipulate that the valuation of land areas and the calculation of financial obligations for buyers and developers must depend on the term of the projects, which should not exceed 50 years.

The "Green Journey - Green Environment - Green Energy" program was launched in Hanoi on November 3, introducing a series of activities to promote environmental protection, sustainable development, and the implementation of circular economy models, green economy, low-carbon economy, and the commitment to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions which is the government's special concern and has been set as a task and goal to achieve the national environmental protection target by 2050.

Hanoi selects architectural design for US$352 million Red River bridge

The Hanoi Transport Construction Investment Project Management Unit will hold a competition to select the architectural design for the US$352 million Thuong Cat Bridge over the Red River, connecting Bac Tu Liem and Dong Anh districts. The competition will offer prizes, with the first prize valued at VND150 million ($6,116), the second prize VND100 million ($4,077), and the third prize VND50 million ($2,038).

Phan Xich Long Food Street to be operational by year-end

Ho Chi Minh City's Phu Nhuan District will open the Phan Xich Long Food Street in December, where diners can search for restaurants and check prices through an application, Deputy Chairman of the Phu Nhuan District People's Committee Do Dang Ai said on November 3. The food street, which stretches 1.5 kilometers from the intersection of Phan Xich Long - Phan Dang Luu to Van Kiep Street, will be a space for entertainment, sightseeing, and leisure activities to promote tourism and develop the night-time economy. Recently, many famous culinary brands have set up restaurants on the street.
