Vietnam Cultural Day held in France

"Vietnam Cultural Day" was held on October 12 in Eure-et-Loir, France, featuring handicrafts, artwork, photography, and literature on Agent Orange (AO) and Vietnam's maritime territories to promote Vietnamese culture to French friends and raise fund for AO victims.

CAAV to spend at least US$5.6 million on carbon offsetting

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) plans to join the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) from January 1, 2026 to reduce carbon emissions from international flights by 2050. 

According to CAAV, the lowest cost that Vietnam's aviation sector will have to pay for carbon offsets in the period 2024-2026 is US$5.6 million.

  

Vietnamese Students in Singapore hosts 'Intellectual Arena' event

The Vietnamese Student Association in Singapore held its first ever "V-Challenge 2024: Intellectual Arena" at Curtin University, attracting a large number of Vietnamese students in the island country.

The event provided a valuable platform for participants to hone essential skills for studying and living abroad while enhancing their knowledge of Vietnamese culture, history, and geography.

Exhibition to boost agricultural exports to China

An exhibition to stimulate the export of agricultural products to China was held in Hanoi on October 13 presenting more than 50 groups of high quality products. China is an important export market for Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery products, reaching US$9.26 billion in the first nine months, up 36% year-on-year, with fruits and vegetables accounting for one third.

Ho Chi Minh City makes positive economic performance 

Ho Chi Minh City posted a growth rate of 6.85% in the last 9 months and expected to reach the annual target of 7.5%-8%, Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan said at the meeting with local entrepreneurs on October 12. 

Vietnam Dance Week highlights Central Highlands culture

Vietnam Dance Week, celebrating Central Highlands dance, opened in Kon Tum on October 13. The three-day event brings together local and international artists, including Oscar Tillman from Sweden and Yohei Yama from Japan. Key events include the performance of the contemporary piece SeSan, the Vietnamese Ethnic Dance Competition, and a workshop on contemporary art.

 

Vietnam women's futsal team climb to 11th in the world

Vietnam women's futsal team have climbed to 11th in the world and 4th in Asia according to the latest FIFA World Ranking. The improvement comes after strong performances, including a tournament in Thailand where they won three and drew one.

 

Khanh Hoa launches tourism campaign to attract year-end visitors

The "Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, Come to Love" campaign was launched on October 13 to offer light shows, concerts and attractive discounts to international and domestic visitors to visitors after the coastal province welcomed 9 million visitors. 

Phung Thi Hong Tham wins 11th gold for Vietnam at Asian Kickboxing Championships

Phung Thi Hong Tham won Vietnam's 11th gold medal at the Asian Kickboxing Championships in Thailand on October 13. The victory added to Vietnam's impressive tally of 11 gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze medals at the event.
