Cultural festival celebrating northeastern ethnic minorities to take place next month


The 11th Northeastern Ethnic Culture Festival will be held in the northern province of Lang Son from November 2 to 4 to showcase traditional cultural games, and local products, and promote regional tourism. This year’s event commemorates Lang Son’s 193rd founding anniversary and the 115th birth anniversary of revolutionary hero Hoang Van Thu. The festival will gather representatives from eight provinces and broadcast live, highlighting the diverse heritage of northeastern Vietnam.

Vietnam boosts cooperation with France and Italy in 2024 promotion


Kon Tum, Ha Nam, and Nghe An have strengthened their cooperation with French and Italian partners at Vietnam’s 2024 Provincial Promotion Program (VPR) took place last week in the two European countries. Delegates engaged in meetings to discuss partnerships in agriculture, technology, and education, and enhance regional cooperation and investment opportunities between Vietnam and the two countries. 

Vietnam shines at ASEAN Cultural Day with dance and cuisine

The Embassy of Vietnam, as Chair of the ASEAN Spouses Association in Washington D.C. last week hosted ASEAN Cultural Day 2024 in Maryland, the US with dances, lacquer paintings of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and a vibrant bamboo dance involving ASEAN Ambassadors. The Vietnamese food booth, featuring shrimp cakes and dried beef salad, made a strong impression on guests.

Vietnam, Australia target US$20 billion trade 


Vietnam and Australia target a two-way trade of US$20 billion and double investments under the Enhanced Economic Engagement Strategy at the 6th Vietnam-Australia Foreign Ministers’ Meeting last weekend. The two countries also agreed to enhance cooperation in high-tech, climate change, and education and signed an action plan for their comprehensive strategic partnership for the 2024-2027 period.  

Vietnam's real estate credit increases 9.15% by September 2024

The State Bank of Vietnam reported that by the end of September 2024, real estate credit increased by 9.15%, slightly higher than overall credit growth (9%). Business real estate credit surged by 16%, while consumer real estate credit grew by 4.62%.
