Vietnam, US give priority to agricultural products
Market access for agricultural products is a top priority for Vietnam and the US, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said at the meeting with the US Department of Agriculture's Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Alexis M. Taylor in Hanoi on September 12.
The US has allowed the import of fresh coconuts from Vietnam. Meanwhile, Vietnam has opened its market for US grapefruits, peaches, and nectarines. The two sides are finalizing procedures for other products, such as oranges, tangerines, plums, passion fruits, and seedless lemons.
Ha Long Bay reopens to tourists after Typhoon Yagi damage
Ha Long Bay is now welcoming tourists after the damage caused by Typhoon Yagi. The Management Board confirmed that key sites, including Thien Cung and Sung Sot, are ready for visitors. Efforts to restore other areas continue, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for tourists. Some overnight stay locations are also prepared to receive guests.

Vietnam hosts the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium
The 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium kicked off in Vietnam's northern mountainous province of Cao Bang on September 12.
Themed “Local/Indigenous People and Sustainable Development in Geoparks”, the four-day symposium will find helpful solutions to build and develop the global geopark title, contributing to preserving and promoting heritage values towards sustainable development.
Central provinces promote tourism in Australia
The central provinces of Quang Nam, Danang, and Thua Thien-Hue collaborated to hold a tourism program in Australia on September 11 to introduce tourist attractions and specialty products in the three localities.
The program featured business-to-business direct meetings and connections, allowing tourism businesses to share information and sign cooperation agreements. The program was part of the agreement between the two governments on upgrading the bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Vietnam listed second among most preferred for South Koreans in Mid-Autumn holiday
Vietnam ranks second among most preferred destinations for South Korean travelers during the Mid-Autumn holiday, with a proportion of 18%, according to a survey on foreign travel intentions conducted from August 1-7 among 1,270 South Korean people aged 18.
The survey revealed that South Korean travelers prioritize destinations based on factors such as short flight distances, low exchange rates, and cost-effectiveness.
WWF’s climate resilient project yields efficiency in Mekong Delta
A project on improving climate resilience for the agro-ecosystem and communities in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu, funded by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), has helped improve production efficacy in the locality's coastal areas, heard a workshop held on September 12.
After two years, the project has contributed to changing the traditional shrimp farming practice to reduce the risk of disease. It also helped farmers find markets for their products, creating jobs for rural workers, and bettering local livelihoods through the climate-resilient shrimp and rice farming model.
Phu Gia horse hat craft earns national heritage status
The traditional craft of Phu Gia horse hat making received the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Certificate in Binh Dinh on September 12. This 200-year-old craft, linked to the swift campaigns of the Tay Son army and once exclusive to the elite, symbolizes the region's heritage. The event emphasized efforts to preserve and promote its economic and tourism potential.
Tuyen Quang cancels festivals due to severe weather and recovery efforts
Tuyen Quang Province canceled the 2024 Festival for the Performance of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Thanh Tuyen Festival due to severe weather and disaster recovery efforts. The festival themed “Essence Converges and Shines,” planned from August 31 to September 15, aimed to promote Tuyen Quang's culture and tourism, in collaboration with various provinces, including Thua Thien-Hue, Bac Ninh, and Tra Vinh.
Vietnam's Gold Star V.League 2 and National Cup start in October
The 2024/25 Gold Star V.League 2 and National Cup will begin in mid-October, following the V.League 1's September start. The V.League 2 features 11 clubs, with promotion and relegation stakes, while the National Cup includes 25 knockout matches. Both competitions aim to showcase rising talent and will implement VAR in key matches.
