Vietnam to host FIATA World Congress 2025

Vietnam will host the next World Congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) from October 6 to 10, 2025.

For nearly 100 years, FIATA's flagship FIATA World Congress has brought together industry leaders and innovators in logistics to discuss industry challenges and trends, and to share and network with various parts of the logistics industry from around the world.

 

Vietnam, Netherlands strengthen climate cooperation

Prince Jaime de Bourbon de Parme, who is also the climate envoy, and some Dutch officials agreed to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam on climate change response when they received Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang on September 17.

The Dutch prince said his country's enterprises are interested in the Vietnamese market and plan to expand their operations in the country. He also suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in fields such as high-tech, semiconductors, and renewable energy.

Vietnam expands vocational training cooperation with Germany

Vietnam wants to strengthen cooperation with Germany in vocational training and sending Vietnamese workers to the European country, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Tan Dung said at a meeting with Michaela Baur, Country Director of the German Development Agency (GIZ), on September 17.

The two sides have implemented 10 projects and cooperation programs at the national and regional levels. The expansion of labor cooperation with Germany has created opportunities for Vietnamese workers to increase their income and sharpen their skills.

Vietnam wins Bronze Medal at WorldSkills Competition

Vietnam has won a bronze medal and three certificates of excellence at the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France. Pham Thanh Dat secured the bronze in CNC milling, while Ho Chi Nguyen, Nguyen Khoa Hai Minh, and Cu Duc Hieu received certificates of excellence in various fields. Vietnam ranked 32nd overall, outperforming teams such as the USA and Spain. 

Companies in Haiphong resume production after storm

Businesses in industrial zones in Haiphong - which bore the brunt of Typhoon Yagi - are speeding up the restoration of production to maintain smooth supply chains.

In the first seven months of 2024, Foreign direct investment (FDI) to the northern beach city totalled US$1.17 billion with 43 new projects, reaching 60% of the annual target.

Vietnamese photographer wins ASEAN SX Photo Contest

Vietnamese photographer Ho Trung Lam won the grand prize at the ASEAN SX Photo Contest 2024, which was held in Thailand under the theme "ASEAN Biodiversity" and attracted photographers from 10 ASEAN countries.

Lam's outstanding entry 'Suc song thien nhien giua long pho bien' (Natural Vitality in the Heart of the Coastal City) took home the competition's top prize of $2,860.

Program promotes heritage and tourism in southern Vietnam

The program "Attractive Tourist Destinations in Ho Chi Minh City and 13 Mekong Delta Provinces in 2024" was launched on September 17 under the theme "Elevating Destinations - Connecting Journeys". The program, which aims to preserve cultural heritage and promote tourism, involves 126 tourist sites.

Artists from seven southestern provinces gather in singing contest 

The 21st "Eastern Melody Festival" will be held from October 21 to 24 in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan. The event, themed "Aspirations of the East," will bring together artists from seven southeastern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate cultural heritage and promote regional cooperation. It coincides with the 29th anniversary of Binh Thuan Tourism Day, which showcases the region's unique cultural and artistic traditions.

Vietnam diving team qualify for 2025 World Games

Vietnam's diving team secured eight spots for the 2025 World Games following their strong performance at the 2024 Finswimming World Cup in Thailand, where they won 26 gold, 27 silver, and 16 bronze medals. Key qualifiers include Nguyen Trung Kien, Luu Nguyen Duc Tam and the men's and women's 4x100m relays. The World Games will be held in Chengdu, China in August 2025.
