Vietnam, Russia strengthen sci-tech, innovation

Vietnam and Russia seek to transfer technology on new materials and energy efficiency, nano, automation, among others, news heard at the meeting between Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat and his courterpart Valery Falkov in Moscow on September 24. 

On this occasion, the two sides agreed to hold joint meetings on cooperation in education and sci-tech, and researches.   

Vietnamese Ao dai heritage club debuts in Czech Republic

A Vietnamese Ao dai (traditional long dress) heritage club has recently made its debut in Prague, aiming to preserving and promoting the costume in the the Czech Republic.

Participants were impressed by an Ao dai show with the dresses designed in the combination between Vietnam’s flag and that of the Czech Republic.

Hue Ao dai Festival 2024 shines traditional cultural values

An art program featuring Ao dai collections by 12 famous designers across Vietnam took place on September 23 night at the Huong River Theater in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

Themed "Linh Phung" (Phoenix), Hue Ao dai Festival was one of the highlights of the Autumn Festival within the framework of Hue Festival 2024. The program spreads the national cultural values and the beauty of the traditional dress.

Google supports Vietnam’s cultural and digital tourism 

Google will continue supporting Vietnam's cultural and tourism promotion, as discussed in a meeting between Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and Google on September 23 in the US.

Over the past years, Vietnam's heritage has been advertised through projects like "Wonders of Vietnam" and "Vibrant Vietnam" on Google Arts & Culture. Google also aids Vietnam's digital transformation in tourism through different initiatives, including collaborations on YouTube and digital tools for local businesses.

Big event in hospitality draws multinationals 

The HorecFex 2024 forum in Danang concluded on September 24 with 2,500 attendees, including speakers from Oracle, Microsoft, and Marriott highlighted tech advancements to boost Vietnam’s tourism and hospitality.

It featured nine workshops and 40 presentations on AI, technology platforms, and digital solutions in hospitality.

Quang Nam promotes tourism in China 

Quang Nam from September 21 to 28 promotes local tourism in Guangxi and Gansu, China through the 21st China-ASEAN Expo. They also explored cooperation opportunities in traditional medicine and cultural tourism, aiming to attract more Chinese visitors to Quang Nam in the future.

Direct flights boost Danang’s international tourism

Malaysia Airlines’ first direct flight from Kuala Lumpur landed in Danang on September 24. The airline will run seven flights weekly, raising the total from Kuala Lumpur to Vietnam to 28. Danang hopes this route will boost international tourism, especially in Southeast Asia and other regions.
