Through the fair, Vietnam aims to promote cooperation in co-publishing, translation and copyright exchange, while expanding investment in digital publishing, e-books, audiobooks and international copyright platforms.
Vietnamese publishers expect the event to help local stories reach readers worldwide faster and more conveniently and to strengthen Vietnam’s image as a creative and reliable partner in the global publishing community.
The Vietnam Book Space covers around 100 square meters, with all booths located in Hall 5.1, a favorable area of the exhibition center. It is co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the departments of Culture and Sports in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam Publishing Association.
According to Nguyen Thi Mai Huong, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the space introduces publications on local culture and famous landmarks, including the English edition of the Hanoi Tourism Newsletter, which promotes the capital’s tourism potential.
Among the exhibitors is Kim Dong Publishing House, joining the Frankfurt Book Fair for the fourth time. This year, it presents new books that highlight Vietnamese culture through meaningful, engaging and beautifully designed stories with creative global elements.
Many publications about Hanoi are introduced at Vietnam Book Space at the Frankfurt Book Fair (Germany).
Vu Thi Quynh Lien, Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of Kim Dong Publishing House, said she hopes readers and children around the world will enjoy this year’s fair.
“We hope these books, rich in ideas, art and aesthetics, will help readers understand more about Vietnam’s culture, people and values while inspiring children to dream and explore the world,” she said.
Phan Tam, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, described the Frankfurt Book Fair as a symbol of creativity, dialogue and cultural cooperation.
“It is a place where cultures meet, listen and enrich each other,” he said at the opening ceremony on October 15.
“With more than 20 Vietnamese publishers and cultural organizations and nearly 100 delegates, we want to bring Vietnamese books closer to global readers,” he added.
The 77th Frankfurt International Book Fair and the Vietnam Book Space will run until October 19. As the world’s largest and oldest book fair, the event connects readers and the global publishing community.
