Vietnam’s leaders extend congratulations on China’s National Day
They affirmed that strengthening ties with China is a strategic priority, with both sides committed to high-level exchanges, deeper friendship and building a substantive Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and Community with a Shared Future.
THE HANOI TIMES — Top Vietnamese leaders have delivered their congratulatory messages to their Chinese counterparts on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (October 1).

General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong sent congratulatory messages to General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man extended greetings to Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji.
In their messages, the Vietnamese leaders congratulated China on its significant achievements over the past 76 years and expressed confidence that, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with the leading role of President Xi Jinping, the country will successfully fulfill the strategic goals set by the 20th CPC National Congress, making positive contributions to peace, stability and global development.
They affirmed that strengthening stable, healthy, friendly and cooperative relations with China is a strategic choice and a top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy.
Both sides will continue to maintain regular high-level exchanges, consolidate traditional friendship, advance the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and build a substantive Vietnam–China Community with a Shared Future.
On this occasion, Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung also sent a congratulatory message to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

In Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Vietnam on April 14-15, the two countries issued a Joint Statement affirming their commitment to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and advance the building of a Vietnam–China Community with a Shared Future.
Both sides stressed the importance of consolidating traditional friendship, strengthening political trust and enhancing cooperation across diplomacy, defense, security, trade and investment.
Vietnam reaffirmed its “One China” policy, while China pledged to support Vietnam’s stability and development.
The two countries agreed to expand cooperation in transport infrastructure, high-tech industries, clean energy, digital economy and agriculture, with China facilitating imports of Vietnamese farm produce.
They also pledged to step up collaboration in border management, joint patrols and combating transnational crime.
Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2025, the two sides launched a Vietnam–China Year of People-to-People Exchange to strengthen youth, cultural and local exchanges.
Leaders described the Joint Statement as a milestone, reflecting the strategic choice of both Parties and peoples to elevate cooperation, deliver practical benefits and contribute to regional peace and development.
