Through the project, which involves the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction and the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Vietnam aims to accelerate the construction of smart city across the country.
The Vietnamese Ministry also hopes to strengthen exchanges with Korean partners in education and technology transfer on smart city development.
In 2024, the two sides will complete and inaugurate a smart city exhibition center in the Western Urban Area of West Lake and explore new building technologies.
In July 2024, South Korean specialists will finalize the smart designs for An Van Duong A and An Van Duong B urban areas in Hue City, in the central coastal province of Thua Thien Hue. The last resort was submitted to the provincial authorities in September 2023.
Vietnamese and Korean ministries will also organize training workshops and seminars as well as online training courses to improve the quality of education and management in smart cities.
Both ministries expect that the project will help the Vietnamese Government and local authorities foster socio-economic growth strategies, improve urban designing, effectively implement smart city samples, and soon set up a network of smart cities and urban areas in 2030.
The project is also forecast to boost the bilateral relations between Vietnam and South Korea, and between the two ministries in the future.
