THE HANOI TIMES — The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned in the strongest possible terms the terrorist attack that leaves sorrow to India.
At a regular press briefing on April 24, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pham Thu Hang, said Vietnam expresses solidarity with the government and people of India, as well as the families of the victims, and sympathy over the violent attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, where nearly 30 people were killed or injured.
"Vietnam strongly condemns this terrorist act and believes that those responsible for such heinous crimes will be severely punished," Hang said.

On April 23, Vietnam's Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent condolences to India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian people.
Regarding the protection of Vietnamese citizens in India, Hang said: "After the incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs immediately instructed the Vietnamese missions in India to coordinate with local authorities to check, and so far there have been no confirmed Vietnamese victims of the attack."
However, Vietnamese authorities and diplomatic missions continue to closely monitor the situation and take measures to protect citizens if necessary.
Earlier on April 23, Indian media reported a major terrorist attack on April 22 at the popular tourist destination of Baisaran, near the resort town of Pahalgam in Indian-controlled Kashmir. The attack occurred around 3 PM local time when an armed terrorist group opened fire, killing at least 28 people.
The head of the Jammu and Kashmir administration, Omar Abdullah, described the attack as “far more serious than any other assault targeting civilians in recent years.”
