Vietnam wins 2025 international pastry and bakery competition

Along with the medals, this win promotes the rising prestige of Vietnam's pastry and bakery industry.

THE HANOI TIMES — The Vietnamese culinary team claimed the top prize at the “Battle of the Pastry & Bakery 2025” held in Penang, Malaysia.

This is the second time that Vietnamese bakers have won a major international competition endorsed by the global Worldchefs association.

During the three-day competition, the team outperformed over 400 contestants from across Asia.

They secured 16 gold, five silver, and 11 bronze medals, along with two major trophies in addition to the Grand Championship Cup, the event's highest honor.

Chef Duong Minh Tri stood out by winning three individual gold medals and being named Best Chef of the competition.

The Saigon Chef Association and the Vietnam Bakery Association put together the Vietnamese delegation.

As well as the medals, this impressive victory cements the growing reputation of Vietnam’s pastry and bakery industry. It also provides a platform for young chefs to step onto the global culinary stage with confidence.
