The footbridge makes it more convenient for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the road, especially at rush hour.
A new Y-shaped or three-way footbridge, the first of its kind in Hanoi, is scheduled to be put into operation in the city’s downtown next month following over a year of construction.
The three-way pedestrian bridge connects the sidewalk of Hoang Minh Giam street along Thanh Xuan Park with two separate street corners on either side of Nguyen Thi Thap street in Thanh Xuan district. |
The walkway will contribute to ensuring traffic safety for pedestrians while crossing in the street. |
The Y-shaped bridge employs a steel box girder upper structure supported by three main steel-and-concrete pillars. |
This footbridge is considered to be the most esthetically beautiful and pleasing to the eye among the current pedestrian bridges in the capital city. |
