THE HANOI TIMES — On a rainy autumn evening in Hanoi, thousands gathered along the streets from the afternoon and waited through the night for the grand ceremony marking the 80th National Day on the morning of September 2.
The drizzle could not stop the crowds, who came with umbrellas, raincoats and happy smiles to share the special moment.
Families, students, veterans, and neighbors stood close together near Ba Dinh Square, hoping to witness history.
