The extension has been approved by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to allow more residents and visitors to explore Vietnam’s 80-year journey of development.
Themed “80 Years of the Journey for Independence - Freedom - Happiness”, the exhibition was originally slated to close on September 5. However, since its opening on August 28, the exhibition has garnered many people from all walks of life and created a profound nationwide impact. Over 1.2 million have visited the exhibition in just three days of opening.
It has become a centerpiece of the national celebrations, especially during the National Day holiday from August 30 to September 2. Visitors were eager to see both indoor and outdoor displays highlighting achievements in military, economic, technological and cultural fields.
The exhibition aims to honor history and showcase the outstanding accomplishments of the Vietnamese people in protecting, building and developing the nation over the past 80 years.
It also plays an important role in promoting patriotism, strengthening public confidence in the country’s path toward innovation and sustainable development and presenting the image of a dynamic, globally integrated Vietnam.
Moreover, the exhibition allows citizens to directly experience the nation's milestones.
Prime Minister Chinh has tasked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with coordinating ministries and relevant organizations to review all preparations and ensure the necessary conditions for the exhibition to run smoothly and efficiently.
This includes ensuring quality, effectiveness, security, safety, and environmental hygiene to provide a welcoming experience for citizens and stakeholders.
The Ministry of Finance is responsible for coordinating with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review the funds for the extended exhibition.
