Hanoi honors outstanding teachers and exemplary educators
Hanoi’s education sector has advanced digital transformation, with all schools using electronic records and learning platforms, most students assigned digital IDs, while AI is applied in administration, teaching supervision and bilingual cooperation programs.
THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi today (November 11) recognized exceptional teachers and exemplary educators who have made lasting contributions to the city’s education sector, a field that has gained a prominent role in society.

The ceremony, held ahead of the 43rd Vietnam Teachers’ Day on November 20, was livestreamed to schools across Hanoi.
Party General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent flowers to congratulate the city’s education community.
The event gathered senior leaders, including Hanoi Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc and Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, together with hundreds of outstanding teachers representing schools in the capital.

Education at the forefront of innovation
Hanoi’s education system now educates more than 2.3 million students and employs nearly 140,000 teachers.
Over 80% of public schools meet national standards and many are integrating digital tools into both management and teaching.

According to Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong, the city continues to lead the country in both general and specialized education. This year, students won 200 national prizes and 18 international medals, including golds at the Chemistry and Biology Olympiads.
Hanoi–Amsterdam High School student Tran Bui Bao Khanh also became the 2025 champion of the national TV quiz Road to Mount Olympia.

The city is also pioneering bilingual and international cooperation programs while applying artificial intelligence in administration and teaching supervision.
The ceremony highlighted inspiring stories from educators who have shaped generations of students. Teacher Nguyen Van Hoa, Chairman of Nguyen Binh Khiem School and a 2025 Outstanding Citizen of Hanoi, shared his lifelong commitment to nurturing young minds.

Meanwhile, Teacher Cao Thi Thu Hien from Phuong Mai Kindergarten and student Bao Khanh spoke about their motivation to keep learning and giving back to the community.
Minister Nguyen Kim Son praised the achievements of Hanoi’s education system, describing it as the country’s “driving force for innovation.”
He urged the capital to continue leading national reforms, sharing best practices and promoting a culture of digital learning.
“Hanoi’s teachers must be role models of knowledge and civility, who are modern in mindset, creative in teaching and confident in technology,” said Son.
Individuals honored for their contributions to the education sector.
Hanoi Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc commended the contributions of teachers while calling for stronger efforts to reduce disparities between urban and suburban schools.
He emphasized that education must remain central to the city’s development strategy, with investment focused on school infrastructure, teacher training and equitable access to quality education.
He urged schools to strengthen foreign language teaching, particularly English, and to incorporate ethics, life skills and environmental awareness into their curricula. “Investing in education is investing in the future of Hanoi,” he said.
The city will soon issue an action program to implement the new national education resolution, ensuring teachers receive better incentives and professional support to innovate and excel.
At the ceremony, Hanoi’s Department of Education and Training received the Government’s Emulation Flag for outstanding achievements in 2025. Dozens of schools and individuals were also awarded state honors and certificates of merit.
The event reflected Hanoi’s enduring respect for teachers and its determination to maintain the city’s reputation as a cradle of talent and learning, a place where knowledge, culture and innovation come together to shape the nation’s future.
