The Culture for Peace Festival will be held for the first time in Hanoi to commemorate the city's major events.
A recent meeting chaired by Hanoi Mayor Tran Sy Thanh aims to review preparations for the city's major events, including the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital on October 10 and the 25th anniversary of "Hanoi - City for Peace".

Fostering great unity among people in the capital
At the meeting, the Director of Hanoi's Department of Culture and Sports said that the "Cultural Festival for Peace" would celebrate the 70th anniversary of the capital's liberation and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi's designation as a "City for Peace" by UNESCO on July 16, 1999.
Scheduled for October 6, it will be a large-scale program staged in a cultural and historical space - the Ly Thai To Flower Garden and Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Zone in Hoan Kiem District. The total number of participants in the festival is estimated at 10,000, of which 9,400 will be citizens - both performers and spectators.
The Hanoi Municipal Government has collected input, completed the festival program, and agreed on the decorations while its agencies and localities have made plans to proactively carry out assigned tasks.

Commenting on the "Cultural Festival for Peace", Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong asked that the organization of the festival should create a joyful atmosphere, arouse pride, and promote the great solidarity of the people of the capital. This is an opportunity to promote Hanoi's culture, history, and tourism to domestic and foreign tourists. Therefore, it is important to mobilize all media channels for communication before and during the festival so that people in the city and the whole country can follow the event.
Carefully consider scenarios and make plans
Concluding the meeting, Sy Thanh called for close coordination with the media to promote the festival and ensure that citizens, international tourists, and people nationwide know about the event, participate in it, and are informed about it. Therefore, it is necessary to immediately prepare a communication plan for the festival program.
For the dress rehearsal and official performances, the city and Hoan Kiem District police are asked to carefully consider scenarios, make plans, and increase forces to ensure traffic control, security, fire prevention and suppression, medical services, and environmental sanitation.

In addition, a special art program titled "Hanoi - City of Peace - City of Flying Dragon" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the capital's liberation will be held at My Dinh National Stadium on the evening of October 10. It will be a large-scale highlight event that will conclude the series of celebratory activities.
The program will include an artistic performance with a drone light show, aerial and ground fireworks, and a pyrotechnics show. About 25,000 people are expected to attend, including 24,000 from all walks of life in the city.

According to Phong, the special arts program is a large-scale event. Through the program, the city will gain experience in organizing events of this magnitude and access to international-level event technology, thereby sending a message about its event organizing capacity. Therefore, the preparation of the program must be done thoroughly.
"In addition, communication about the art program needs to be strengthened, especially among young people. Given the special nature of the program, it is crucial to spread the communication to people all over the country, focusing on the first-tier cities," Phong stressed.
With this task in mind, Thanh insisted that safety and security must be guaranteed during the drone light show and fireworks display.
