Hanoi Shopping Festival 2025 puts local cuisine in the spotlight

This is one of the city's key trade promotion activities at the end of the year, aiming to stimulate domestic consumption and promote Vietnamese products to residents and tourists.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi Shopping Festival 2025 puts local cuisine in the spotlight as the city blends retail promotion with cultural experiences and traditional food in a community space welcoming the New Year.

Speaking at the festival’s opening ceremony on the evening of December 25 in Dong Anh Commune, Nguyen Anh Duong, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said the event goes beyond a market promotion program to celebrate Hanoi’s culinary identity alongside shopping and entertainment.

"An important highlight of this year's festival is the space of regional culinary culture, converging the quintessence of Vietnamese dishes that associate with rural memories, with the skillful hands of culinary artisans and the identity of the land," said Duong.

Visitors can find Hanoi's delicious gifts, such as young sticky rice and cold snail noodles, or dishes with mountainous flavors such as dried pork and beef, the salty taste of traditional fish sauce, or the sophistication of sweet soups and teas.

"Coming to the festival, people can shop and travel by senses when enjoying folk music, feeling the aroma of traditional dishes and enjoying the delicious flavors of specialties nationwide,” said Duong.

It is the combination of trade, culture and cuisine that will create a unique attraction for the event.”

Hanoi Shopping Festival 2025 promises to be one of the important trade promotion activities at the end of the year, expected to stimulate the circulation of goods, enhance the competitiveness of businesses and honor the value of Vietnamese products.

The event serves as an important bridge between producers and consumers, helping local businesses reach new customers.

With 120 standard booths, the festival has drawn nearly 110 enterprises from 14 provinces and cities. Pavilions are arranged in themed zones, including areas for showcasing typical products, product demonstrations, regional culinary culture, trade and business networking, alongside a wide variety of sideline activities.

On display are local specialties, One Commune - One Product (OCOP) items, traditional craft village products, food and beverages, textiles and garments, leather goods and fashion accessories.

The Hanoi Shopping Festival 2025 brings together many prestigious enterprises and brands in the fields of production, trade and services; diversifying high-quality Vietnamese goods and local typical products.

The program contributes to honoring the value of Vietnamese goods, encouraging Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods.

The festival facilitated access to a wide range of essential household goods, all at publicly displayed prices and with clear origins. This contributed to increased consumer confidence in domestically-produced goods.

The festival also offered a lively cultural and entertainment space with traditional art performances, music, a photo-op area with scenic displays and a specially-designed lighting display.

These activities have created a joyful and bustling atmosphere, attracting a large number of locals and tourists.

The festival will run until December 28.
