Hanoi to build and develop the chains of safe food supply

The Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has just granted the Official Letter No. 1104/SNN-QLCL on recommending People’s Committees of districts, towns and subordinate units to strengthen building, development of safe food supply chains in the area.



 
Accordingly, districts, towns will direct divisions, units, sectors, People’s Committees of communes, wards to implement assigned contents at the Decision No. 2582/QD-UBND dated June 5, 2015 of Hanoi People’s Committee, including: strengthening popularization, instruction on producing safe foods; signing commitments on safe food production with small facilities; checking the implementation of contents committed as stipulated by law; continuing building, developing and supporting chains of cultivation, husbandry and aquaculture to ensure quality, food safety and original traces; inspecting, considering and granting certificates of food safety for producing, trading establishments as assigned by the capital city; cooperating with units of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to manage producing, trading establishments as assigned by the capital city. 

In addition, districts, towns in collaboration with the Sub-Department of Agro-Forestry-Fishery Quality Management are tasked to instruct producing, trading facilities meeting standards at the Decision No. QD-BNN-QLCL dated July 20, 2016 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to make registration certification of safe food supply chains as stipulated by law; publicizing the list of facilities trading safe food on mass media. In the implementation process, if having difficulties, entanglements, individuals and organizations can give suggestions, proposals to the Sub-Department of Agro-Forestry-Fishery Quality Management.

Meanwhile, units under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will cooperate with communication agencies to strengthen popularization on Veterinary Law to improve awareness and practice of food safety for managers, producers, traders and consumers in the area; build and develop animal product supply chains to ensure food safety in the capital city; instruct famers to take measures for disease prevention and control and enrich knowledge of food safety for them; checking and granting certificates of food safety for facilities producing, trading animal products as assigned, decentralized.
