Israeli businesses expand supply sources from Vietnam

The total value of trade between the two countries is predicted to hit US$3.7 billion for 2025, a 14% rise compared to 2024.

THE HANOI TIMES — Trade between Vietnam and Israel remained strong in the first half of 2025, with Israeli firms actively seeking alternative suppliers in Vietnam, according to Le Thai Hoa, Trade Counselor at the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel.

"Data shows that bilateral trade hit nearly US$1.83 billion in the first six months of 2025, up 31.2% year-on-year. Exports from Vietnam rose to $425 million during this period, maintaining the same level as the previous year," said Hoa.

Assuming current momentum continues and there are no significant market disruptions, trade between the two countries is projected to reach $3.7 billion for the full year, which is a 14% increase over 2024.

Hoa described this trade performance as relatively impressive because Israel's population currently stands at 10.1 million, and conflicts have caused serious disruptions to Israel’s external supply chains. This has led to greater demand for a wide range of imported goods.

Since mid-June, tensions have intensified sharply following Israel’s preemptive airstrikes on targets in Tehran and several Iranian provinces. The Vietnamese embassies in Israel and Iran have worked on evacuation plans for their citizens in both countries.
