Overseas Vietnamese voice unity and shared aspirations at 2026 Xuan Que Huong

On the sidelines of 2026 Xuan Que Huong in Hanoi, overseas Vietnamese shared with the Vietnam News Agency their reflections on Tet as a sacred moment of reunion, unity and renewed hopes for peace, prosperity and national development.

THE HANOI TIMES — Tet (Lunar New Year) represents a sacred moment of renewal and harmony between heaven and earth. It is also a time for overseas Vietnamese communities to turn toward the homeland with deep affection and hopes for peace, happiness and success for their families, communities and the nation.

The annual Xuan Que Huong program has become a meaningful spiritual gift for more than 6.5 million Vietnamese living, studying and working around the world. As one of the 1,500 overseas Vietnamese invited this year, I clearly feel the sincere care and strong commitment of Party and State leaders toward overseas communities.

The program also creates a valuable space for leaders to directly hear the views and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese, helping shape policies that are more practical, responsive and closely aligned with reality.

The event gains added significance as it takes place amid pride following the success of the 14th National Party Congress. The Vietnamese community in the Russian Federation closely follows the three strategic breakthroughs in institutions, human resources and infrastructure, which together form a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable national development.

Among these, human resources play the central role, while institutions and infrastructure create enabling conditions for talent to thrive.

In this context, overseas Vietnamese in the Russian Federation have become increasingly aware of their responsibilities in the new development era. Every Vietnamese living abroad should continue striving, fully leveraging personal strengths and expertise and making practical contributions to the homeland.

Each return to Vietnam, especially during the warm and meaningful atmosphere of the Xuan Que Huong program, brings me deeply moving emotions.

I’m proud and happy to reconnect with one’s roots and celebrate Tet alongside compatriots at home and overseas Vietnamese from around the world. Xuan Que Huong carries profound cultural and political significance and serves as a strong spiritual bond, helping overseas Vietnamese feel the lasting warmth and strength of national unity.

Every visit home allows me to clearly witness the country’s dynamic transformation, alongside its strong commitment to preserving cultural identity and traditional values.

Today, Vietnam is widely recognized as a peaceful and stable country and an attractive destination for economic cooperation, education, culture and people-to-people exchange.

Above all, the spirit of national unity, determination to move forward and the image of a humane and responsible Vietnam are values I proudly share with friends and partners in Japan.

In the warmth of the new spring, I hope every Vietnamese person, wherever they live, will continue to preserve the Vietnamese language and culture and expresses love for the homeland through concrete actions.

In 2026 and the years ahead, Vietnam will continue to pursue sustainable development, strengthen its international standing and remain a strong spiritual anchor for overseas Vietnamese worldwide.

This year’s Xuan Que Huong program became even more meaningful as it took place amid nationwide celebrations of the successful 14th National Party Congress, which opened a new development phase marked by confidence, initiative and strong national aspiration.

Xuan Que Huong serves as a meeting point between overseas Vietnamese and the homeland, as well as among overseas Vietnamese themselves.

It offers an opportunity for communities around the world to exchange experiences, strengthen connections and reinforce unity toward shared development goals.

Following the 14th National Party Congress, I hope major policies for overseas Vietnamese continue to advance in a coordinated, practical and effective manner, reflecting diversity in generations, professions and levels of connection to the homeland.

Policies that attract and value overseas resources should continue to improve, particularly those supporting overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, experts and entrepreneurs in key fields such as science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, education and healthcare.

Administrative, residency, nationality, investment and employment policies should remain favorable, enabling overseas Vietnamese to contribute with confidence over the long term.

I also hope Party and State leaders continue strengthening policies that help overseas Vietnamese stabilize their lives, integrate into host societies and preserve Vietnamese culture and language for younger generations.

Greater investment in Vietnamese-language education programs and stronger support for overseas associations and cultural centers will further reinforce national unity and nurture lasting bonds with the homeland, especially among young people.

With open, humane and practical policies from the Party and the State, the role, intellect and potential of overseas Vietnamese will continue to expand, contributing actively to the building of a strong Vietnam that integrates deeply with the world.

About 2026 Xuan Que Huong

Xuan Que Huong 2026 stands as a meaningful cultural and spiritual reunion during Tet and an important event in people-to-people diplomacy and overseas Vietnamese affairs. The program helps translate major Party and State policies on national unity into concrete action while mobilizing overseas resources for national development.

The program follows the successful 14th National Party Congress, marking a new stage of development after 40 years of reform, with Vietnam’s capacity, position and international standing continuing to rise under a clear strategic vision toward 2030 and a long-term outlook to 2045.

This year's program runs from February 6 to February 9 in Hanoi and Ninh Binh Province. Its main event, the art performance themed "Vietnam's Aspiration: Peace and prosperity”, was held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi on the night of February 8.

The program drew the participation of some 1,500 overseas Vietnamese, representing more than 6.5 million Vietnamese people living in 130 countries and territories around the world.
