S. Korean business seeks to cooperate with Hanoi in waste treatment

Techcross CEO Kim Jung Chul expressed the view in a meeting with Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen on November 8, facilitated by the Vietnam Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises (VAFIE).

Kim shared that Techcross, a company specializing in environmental and wastewater treatment, ranks among the top three companies in this field in South Korea and is currently engaged in over 100 ongoing projects worldwide.

He emphasized that Vietnam, with its rapid growth and high demand in this sector, is a key market, and Techcross has already taken initial steps by participating in the North Saigon II Wastewater Treatment project in Ho Chi Minh City through a public-private partnership (PPP).

During the meeting, Vice Chairman Quyen expressed gratitude for Techcross's goodwill and the support of the VAFIE. He stressed the importance of maintaining close cooperation with the foreign business community to promote Hanoi's image.

Quyen appreciated Techcross's proposal and highlighted the city's strong focus on and priority for wastewater treatment, as existing facilities meet only 30% of the city's general needs.

He mentioned ongoing coordination with Japanese partners for the Yen Xa wastewater treatment project and welcomed new projects in wastewater treatment through PPP methods, leveraging Techcross's experience.

Expressing his support for Techcross's cooperation proposal, Quyen assigned the Department of Construction to serve as the city's focal point for discussions, research, and the development of specific plans for cooperation between Hanoi and Techcross in the future.

He expected that with Techcross’s expertise and experience, the projects, once implemented, would operate effectively and promptly, contributing to the overall development of the capital.

“Hanoi stands ready to listen and address any issues that may arise during the implementation of cooperation with Techcross and other foreign partner businesses in the capital,” he noted.
