Global workplace culture authority Great Place to Work honored Vietnam's 25 best workplaces on May 18. Techcombank topped the list of five large companies, DHL-VNPT Express Limited was the best of 10 medium-sized companies, and Cisco Systems Vietnam topped the list of 10 small companies.

The 2023 Vietnam Best Workplaces rankings use similar criteria to the US magazine Fortune's US and global rankings since 1998.

Apple's most expensive item sold for US$55,220

A fully-optioned Mac Pro desktop computer is listed on Apple's online store with a total value of VND1.3 billion (US$55,220). The item consists of a 2.5Ghz Xeon W 28 chip, a 1.5TB DDR4 ECC RAM card, two Radeon Pro W6800X Duo graphics cards, and an 8TB SSD hard drive for data storage.

The product may be suitable for professional designers or users with specific needs. Apple launched its first online store for Vietnam on May 18 to provide customers with high-quality products.

Government urges drastic measures to stop poultry smuggling

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 18 urged Government agencies to stop and prevent the smuggling of domestic chickens and poultry into Vietnam, especially in border areas in the central and southern regions, saying the imports could cause the spread of bird flu viruses and other infectious diseases.

Ministries, provincial authorities and the National Steering Committee against Smuggling, Counterfeiting and Trade Fraud (National Steering Committee 389) are requested to take urgent measures to better tackle the problem.

Vietnam ETE & Enertec Expo 2023 to attract 20,000 visitors

The 16th International Exhibition on Electrical Technology and Equipment (Vietnam ETE 2023) and the 13th International Exhibition on Products and Technology of Energy Saving and Green Power (Enertec Expo 2023) are expected to attract 20,000 visitors from July 19-21 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The events will feature a series of activities such as in-depth industry discussions, business matchmaking sessions, and trade shows. Some 400 local and international exhibitors have so far registered to set up some 500 booths at the expo.

Ho Chi Minh City to host Vietnam Blockchain Summit 2023

The Vietnam Blockchain Summit 2023, themed "Stay on the Path", will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 12-13.

About 2,500 representatives from governments, ministries, experts, and enterprises from Vietnam and other countries will attend the event to exchange views on technology applications, promote investment cooperation, and create new products to develop digital government, digital economy, and digital society.

Vietnam to study establishment of overseas tourism promotion office

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked relevant ministries to consider setting up an overseas tourism promotion office in some key markets. According to the latest resolution on solutions to support the recovery and development of sustainable tourism, approved on May 18, the country aims to make tourism a spearhead industry and become one of the 30 countries with leading tourism competitiveness.

Vietnam-US Business Forum held to discuss trade solutions

The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, in cooperation with the State of Oregon and the Vietnamese Consulate in San Francisco, hosted the Vietnam-US Business Forum 2023 on the morning of May 18 (local time).

The forum was attended by approximately 200 business leaders in the fields of renewable energy, mechanics, agriculture and fisheries, logistics, and information and communications. Participants debated the challenges Vietnamese businesses facing amid global uncertainties and adversities, including geopolitical conflicts and trade tensions.
