Vietnamese goods face difficulties in UAE due to high logistics costs

The cost of transporting goods from Vietnam to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is twice as high as that from Thailand, Huynh Bao Khuong, Head of the Vietnamese Community Liaison Committee in the UAE, told Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 1 during a meeting with the Vietnamese community on the occasion of his attendance at the 28th United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP28).

Shipping Vietnamese goods to many countries also involves high logistics costs, which is a challenge for many Vietnamese businesses operating in the UAE, he said, expecting the government to take measures to address the issue.

Binh Duong to operate first district-level IOC

Thu Dau Mot City, southern Binh Duong Province, on December 1 inaugurated the Intelligent Operation Center (IOC), the second intelligent operation center in the city and the first local-level center in nine districts and cities in Binh Duong.

This center collects specialized databases from agencies and processes them according to the requirements of the city government, and connects to the IOC of Binh Duong.

Vietnam to host 26th ASEAN Insurance Regulators' Meeting and 49th ASEAN Insurance Council Meeting

The 26th ASEAN Insurance Regulator's Meeting (AIRM 26) and the 49th ASEAN Insurance Council Meeting (AIC 49) will be held from December 5 to 8 in Ha Long City, northern Quang Ninh Province. About 150 delegates representing agencies and insurance companies from the 10 ASEAN member countries, the ASEAN Secretariat, and the ASEAN Insurance Training and Research Institute (AITRI) are expected to attend these events.

Information System Security Management Support Platform launched

The Ministry of Information and Communications has launched a management support platform for information system security at various levels to proactively respond to challenges in cyberspace. The platform will help the ministry prepare reports for the Government and the Prime Minister and use its data to assess and rank the security of information systems in ministries, sectors, and localities.

Hanoi aims to have 1,000 supporting industry enterprises by 2024, according to the latest plan issued by the municipal Hanoi People's Committee.

About 35-40% of these enterprises are expected to meet international standards regarding production lines and products, enabling them to participate in Vietnam's global production networks of multinational corporations.
