Vietnam and Australia hand over SEARP leadership at OECD ministerial meeting

During the 2025 OECD Ministerial Council Meeting (MCM) in France on June 3-4, Vietnam and Australia handed over the co-chair role of the Southeast Asia Regional Program (SEARP) to Canada and the Philippines. From 2022 to 2025, the two countries co-led SEARP through major challenges, advancing practical cooperation and shaping strategic priorities for recovery and closer OECD integration. These priorities focused on resilience, reform, openness, and the green-digital transition.

Vietnam exports first batch of low-emission rice

Vietnam is set to export its inaugural shipment of “Low-Emission Rice” on June 5, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to green agriculture. Produced by Trung An Company and shipped to Japan in partnership with MURASE Group, the rice is certified under a national sustainability plan, promoting Vietnam's green brand and increase exports of low-emission rice.

Vietnam Railways posts highest profit in four years

In 2024, Vietnam Railways (VNR) reported revenue of US$400 million and after-tax profits of over US$5.4 million, the highest figures since 2019. The company's growth was driven by new services, transporting over seven million passengers and 5.16 million tons of goods. For 2025, the company targets around US$420 million in revenue, while also improving infrastructure, reducing rail accidents, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Vietnam’s coffee exports near US$5 billion on record prices

Vietnam’s coffee exports reached nearly $4.78 billion in the first five months of 2025, marking a 65.3% year-on-year increase. Arabica and processed coffee made a significant contribution, benefiting from strong demand in Europe, the US, and Asia, as well as favorable trade agreements. The major markets were Germany, Italy, the US, Japan, and Mexico.

Manufacturers unveil smart production in Hanoi

Companies promote premium goods in Ho Chi Minh City
