The event, held at the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery, features around 90 paintings, graphic works, sculptures, and decorative arts pieces by renowned Russian artists and their Vietnamese students.

According to Vasily Tsereteli, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, the exhibition highlights the creative connection between generations of Russian and Vietnamese artists. It bridges Russian realism with Vietnamese styles.

One highlight is the five artworks of People’s Artist Ngo Manh Lan, who was the first Vietnamese to study animation in the Soviet Union in 1962. His animated films, including The Adventures of a Cricket and The Kitten's Tet Holiday, have left a lasting impression on generations of Vietnamese children.

At the event, Madame Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, praised the exhibition and highlighted its importance in strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Russia. On this occasion, Phuong Ly received the Gold Medal “For Merit” from the Russian Academy of Arts in recognition of her contributions to the friendship. The Academy also named Vietnamese sculptor Dao Chau Hai a foreign honorary member.

The exhibition is open to the public until September 28.
