The fair is expected to connect supply chains, promote trade and investment and support the target of 8% GDP growth this year.
Following the success of the 80-year Journey of National Achievements Exhibition held from late August to mid-September, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the Autumn Fair as a platform for promoting commerce, investment, production, and import-export activities.
The fair will cover the entire VEC space, combining trade and investment activities with cultural showcases, promoting products, services, technologies, and cultural features such as cuisine, tourism, and the traditional ao dai to highlight Vietnam’s image.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize cultural and tourism events, while the Ministry of Finance ensures budget compliance.
National media outlets will widely promote the fair domestically and internationally, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate with Vietnamese embassies abroad to attract foreign participation.
Local authorities, state-owned corporations and private firms are encouraged to showcase diverse products and services, enhancing trade and investment opportunities.
Meanwhile, Hanoi will provide transport support for visitors and expand traffic routes to VEC.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son will oversee the fair’s implementation, while the Government Office monitors progress and addresses arising issues.
The Autumn Fair follows the record-setting National Achievements Exhibition, which opened on August 28 with over 250,900 sq.m of display space, 230 booths, participation from 28 ministries, 34 provinces, and more than 110 corporations.
The 19-day exhibition, covering nearly 180 sectors including economics, culture, defense and foreign affairs, attracted over 10 million visitors and hundreds of thousands of participants in cultural and music programs.
