National achievement expo exceeds expectations: PM

The nation-scale exhibition, the largest of its kind in Vietnam so far, showcased the country’s development achievements across multiple sectors and all 34 provinces and cities.

THE HANOI TIMES — The National Achievements Exhibition at the Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC) in Hanoi demonstrated great national solidarity through rich and diverse content, making it a proud success and a springboard for future national and international events, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in his closing remarks on September 15 night.

With the theme "80-year Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness," the event reflected the Vietnamese people’s aspirations to reach further in the new era and highlighted that people are the foundation and the true makers of history.

The Government leader affirmed that the core spirit running through all spaces and activities of the exhibition was the strong message about the Vietnamese people, who are intelligent, creative, sincere, open and hospitable.

“This spirit has formed the foundation of many historic achievements over the past 80 years and embodies the aspiration of the Vietnamese people to reach the heights in a new era,” said Chinh.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presents certificates of merit to collectives and individuals for outstanding contributions to the exhibition.

He highly valued the dedication, efforts and creativity by ministries, agencies, localities, enterprises, scientists, artists, musicians, art organizers, volunteers and the public who contributed to the exhibition’s resounding success.

"This success is not only a proud culmination of the exhibition but also a promising beginning for upcoming major national and international events," said Chinh.

He called on all Vietnamese to keep writing the nation’s proud history with patriotism, confidence, compassion and the burning aspiration to build a prosperous and happy country standing shoulder to shoulder with global powers, a vision cherished by President Ho Chi Minh.

The closing ceremony also included a formal awards segment, followed by a large-scale concert gathering some of Vietnam’s most popular artists, People’s Artist Thanh Hoa, Meritorious Artist Viet Hoan, and well-known singers such as Trong Tan and Tung Duong.

Special music show titled “I Love My Homeland” held as part of the closing of the National Achievement Exhibition.

The concert was staged in three chapters, featuring a special music show titled “I Love My Homeland” with about 20 performances that blend traditional and contemporary styles, powerful vocals with orchestral arrangements, and vibrant visuals with emotional depth.

The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display, marking the end of the largest exhibition ever held in Vietnam, which brought together 28 ministries and central agencies, 16 state-owned economic corporations, and 110 leading private enterprises.

The exhibition was a major political and cultural event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2). Running from August 28 to September 15, it showcased the achievements of nearly 180 sectors across various fields over the past eight decades and drew around 10 million local and international visitors.

The closing ceremony of the exhibition left a deep impression, opening hope for a new era of wealth, prosperity and happiness.

Another attractive performance at the closing ceremony.
