Leading the group is outside hitter (OH) Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, ranked 14th globally and 4th among OHs, with 327.85 points from 10 scoring tournaments, including the AVC Nations Cup, Vietnam Hung Vuong Cup, and club competitions in Turkey. Her SEA V.League 2025 championship added 10 points, lifting her above stars like Melissa Karakurt (Turkey) and Julia Kudiess (Brazil).
Close behind is libero Nguyen Khanh Dang, ranked 27th overall and 3rd among liberos, with 235.25 points. In addition to her performances in SEA V.League 2025, which earned her 10 points and the “Best Libero” award, which increased her score by 15%, she earned 115 points as runner-up in the AVC Champions League with VTV Binh Dien Long An.
The other two Vietnamese players are Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, who ranks 85th with 169.25 points, and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, who ranks 86th with 169 points.
This result, despite Vietnam not yet competing in the FIVB Nations League, shows the growing international recognition for the country’s women’s volleyball, paving the way for greater opportunities ahead.
Vietnam’s women’s team defeated Thailand 3-2 on August 10 to win the second leg of the SEA V.League 2025, enhancing the nation’s standing in regional and global women’s volleyball.
