The ministry reported that the country is currently developing 692 social housing projects with more than 633,500 units nationwide as part of its plan to build over one million units,.

Several provinces have already surpassed their annual goals, including Haiphong (101%), Hue (120%), Tuyen Quang (100%), Quang Ninh (104%) and Nghe An (173%). Others expected to achieve more than 50% of their targets include Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, Ninh Binh, Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai and Ca Mau.

In contrast, provinces such as Cao Bang, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau and Ha Tinh have yet to break ground on any projects.

The ministry said it will conduct inspections from August to December to push localities and developers to accelerate construction to meet the prime minister’s housing goals. It has urged provinces to streamline administrative procedures for social housing investment, land management and licensing to better support investors.
