Vietnamese billionaires all gain wealth in July Their combined net worth increased by US$2.5 billion (VND65 trillion) in less than a month. According to Forbes' rankings, Vietnam currently has five billionaires with a total net worth of US$21.2 billion, up by US$2.5 billion since the start of July. The list includes Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong, Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Hoa Phat Chairman Tran Dinh Long, Techcombank Chairman Ho Hung Anh, and Masan Chairman Nguyen Dang Quang. In July, the VN-Index, Vietnam’s benchmark stock market index, rose by 164 points, or 12%, reaching 1,531 points. As a result, the value of stocks held by Vietnamese billionaires also climbed along with the broader market. (Source: VnExpress) National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man meets Vietnamese community in Switzerland As part of his official visit to Switzerland, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga met with staff of Vietnamese representative agencies and members of the Vietnamese community in Switzerland on the afternoon of July 27 (local time). Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed hope that the Vietnamese community in Switzerland would continue to uphold their patriotism, unity, and strong ties, while further strengthening diplomatic, economic, trade, investment, cultural, educational, and healthcare relations with the host country. According to Ambassador Mai Phan Dung, there are around 10,000 Vietnamese living across 26 cantons in Switzerland. The community remains patriotic, united, committed to preserving national identity, and maintains a strong connection to their homeland. While the 2023 Housing Law outlines who can rent or buy social housing, many informal workers, such as app drivers, delivery staff, and seasonal laborers, remain excluded due to strict income and housing status requirements, despite their real housing needs and contributions to the economy. A win against Indonesia U23 in the final would make Vietnam the first team ever to win the tournament three times in a row, an impressive and likely unbreakable record. Vietnam U23 has already claimed the title in 2022 and 2023. So far, the team has won two of the four editions of the tournament, while Indonesia and Thailand have each won once.The final between Vietnam U23 and Indonesia U23 will take place at 8 PM on July 29 at Bung Karno Stadium, Indonesia. He stressed the need for urgent and bold action to complete 100 schools by August 30, 2026, in line with Politburo Conclusion No. 81. The Ministry of Education and Training was directed to finalize a draft Government Resolution, while local authorities must identify locations, ensure essential infrastructure, and mobilize land donations. The Ministry of Construction will design standard school models tailored to each region’s culture, terrain, and climate. The city is partnering with CEP Microfinance and banks to provide 24–30-month loans at 8% interest, with the local authorities subsidizing at least 2% from the city budget.
