Vietnam and China to boost cooperation and trade

Chinese Premier Li Qiang pledged on November 7 to open the market for Vietnam's high-quality goods, especially agricultural products, at a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The two leaders discussed infrastructure, stable supply chains, and the opening of a Vietnamese consulate in Chongqing to strengthen ties.

Vietnam's leaders send congratulations to Donald Trump

Vietnam's top leaders - Party General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - sent congratulations to Donald Trump on his election as the US president on November 7. They stressed Vietnam's commitment to strengthening its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the US, with shared goals of peace, stability, and development. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan also sent congratulations to Vice President-elect James David Vance.

 

Film Market highlights global projects and investment opportunities

The 5th Film Project Market at the 2024 Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF), which opened on November 7, brings together filmmakers, producers, and screenwriters to showcase their projects to global investors through seminars and presentations. This year, a record 70 projects from over 20 countries were submitted, with eight selected for final pitches. The top project will receive a cash prize of VND135 million (US$5,300) from the French Embassy.

 

Ninh Binh sees significant growth in tourism revenue

The northern province of Ninh Binh's tourism revenue reached VND7.77 trillion (US$323 million), an increase of 40.34% year-on-year, achieving 94.22% of the annual target. In October alone, events such as ABBA tribute concerts and a hot air balloon festival to celebrate Trang An's UNESCO heritage status brought in more than VND511 billion (US$21.2 million).

17 Vietnamese universities in QS Asia Top Rankings

Vietnam has 17 universities in the 2025 QS Asia Rankings, two more than last year, with Duy Tan University ranking highest at 127th. Other top-ranked universities include Vietnam National University, Hanoi (161st), and Vietnam National University, HCMC (184th). Ton Duc Thang University dropped 61 places, while Van Lang University and HCMC University of Industry climbed over 200 spots.

 

Vietnam tourism shines at WTM London 2024

Vietnam's tourism stand at WTM London 2024, held from November 5-7, attracted considerable interest with a 150-sqm showcase featuring destinations such as Hanoi, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City. Focusing on beach, nature, culture, and city tourism, Vietnam promoted its safety, hospitality, and UNESCO sites, targeting European markets and celebrating numerous awards.
